Enameled Lava Stone

June 27, 2013 by Allison 4 Comments

enameld lava stone by LavArte via atticmagLava stone is a luxurious product with a vibrant color palette.

Enameled lava stone is perfect indoors and out — from kitchen and bathroom counters to outdoor tabletops.  This durable material can even be used for fireplaces or as pool accents.  It’s no longer necessary to order lava stone from overseas which will greatly reduce the lead time and shipping costs usually associated with its use.

The stone is quarried at the foot of Mount Etna (Italy) and brought to the U.S., where it is enameled and fired during manufacturing.  The delicate crazing appears during the cooling process, creating its distinctive character.  The surface finish is resistant to corrosive chemicals and an extreme range of temperatures. It is impervious to staining and virtually maintenance free.  Color, character and carefree = a perfect working surface, especially kitchen counters.

Cat, it’s a beautiful kitchen and I love the lava stone colors too. I don’t know that I would ever be comfortable using strong colors in our home, but I enjoy being at DD2s and soaking it in over there!
