In a Carrara bathroom, white marble slabs and tiles are both the material and the message.
A white Carrara bathroom has become the classic. The famous marble from northern Italy has found its way into our home and hearts. And in this bathroom it’s on nearly every surface, including the floor, shower walls, tub deck and vanity top. The classic white Victorian-style cabinets and painted plank wainscot define post-Millenium bathroom style. And while the wainscot may feel a little cottage, marble dresses things up. The stone is used in several forms including subway way tiles on the shower walls, hexagonal tiles on the shower floor, large square tiles on the bathroom floor and ogee-edge slabs on the vanity and tub deck. Given the monochrome color scheme details such as crystal cabinet knobs, the high-arc sink faucet, and traditional English style tub filler with hand shower add additional elegant embellishments.

I love the white cabinets! Can you tell me the paint color?
Hi Shelly,
We don’t have the paint color information on that one but even if we did it would likely appear different than in the monitor and might or might not be right for the light in your house.
Whites can be surprisingly complex due to undertones. I always recommend pulling lots of white paint samples, bringing them home and looking at them during the daytime and at night in the room to be painted.
Which paint brand are you looking to use?
We are installing Carrara Marble in our bath, I am using Requisite Gray on the walls and so far my white samples inlcude BM White Dove, BM China White, BM Swiss Coffee…this is after I sanded and painted them with Black Seal!
Taking time to prep bathroom walls is sooo worth it. You will not be sorry as they will wear well. I’ve used BM White Dove. It’s such a good ivory, as is Swiss Coffee. Sounds like the Requisite Gray will go well with the figuring in the marble. Is China White a bright, clear one?
