A collection of smart custom kitchen cabinet ideas for more functional kitchens.
Pull-outs on either side of a range niche are usually used for spice storage. I’ve seen knife drawers and blocks in lower cabinets, but among the custom kitchen cabinet ideas I like is the one in this clever above-the-counter location since it keeps the sharp objects away from small hands.
Conveniently located between cooking surfaces is an integrated butcher blocker counter over the pull-out trash. Placing between a cooktop and sink is another practical location.
Dedicated bakers dream of a baking center in the heart of the kitchen – but one that is nicely hidden away. A pair of bifold doors opens to reveal the counter space necessary for baking. The shallow shelves wrap three sides of the cabinet, keeping things in sight. Lower cabinets feature pull-out drawers for bowls and measuring cups. Deeper drawers to hold containers of bulk ingredients (flour, sugar, etc) are possibly behind the closed cabinet.
