For The Hunger Games, movie set chairs came straight from two showrooms.
Movie sets have always fascinated me, and I often spend as much time studying the details as watching the movie. After seeing The Hunger Games, I asked Mr. Shops if he noticed the dining room chairs in the tributes’ penthouse apartment [below]. Those were the fancy digs for the District 12 pair the night before the games begin. My guess was the movie set chairs were designed for the movie. Wrong!

It’s good to read about details like this sometimes. Even though it’s another case of ‘I didn’t read the book, but saw the movie’ the chairs are a few visual delights on and off the big screen.

I just saw the movie last night and those chairs popped out at me. I am shocked they were not made just for the movie because they fit the whole Capitol feel. Good to know. The book is great. I have been traveling this week and have had an opportunity to read on my flights and I am already on the third book.
