Organize Cord Clutter

October 20, 2011 by Allison 6 Comments

AppleCore cord caddy - Applecore via Atticmag Untangle your life with a colorful cord caddy and cable manager.

I recently discovered colorful silicone cord caddy that comes in three sizes and wanted to share the idea with my decorating-obsessed friends. What do these oddly shaped thingamajigs have to do with decorating? Do electrical cords drive you crazy? Of course they do, but they don’t have to!  The AppleCore cord caddy and cable manager comes in seven colors and three handy sizes. The smallest size is just right for adjusting the length of cords on earbuds and cell phone chargers.  A medium cord caddy is perfect for small devices, such as phone chargers, printers and lamps.  Keep kitchen appliance cords or longer/thicker home office cords out of the way with the largest size.

AppleCore cord caddy - Applecore via Atticmag I love them because I’m finally able to keep my laundry room counter free of phone cords.  I used three AppleCores to corral the tangled mess involved with the cable modem, phone and all-in-one.  They hang in mid-air behind the cabinet, so vacuuming the dust bunnies that electronics tend to produce is a cinch.  They are perfect for stocking stuffers too. Yes, they are useful and no calories.

Ah, cable control! One of my life’s passions, but I use simple velcro ties, both at home and professionally. Admittedly they are not as attractive as these applecores, but they can handle a thirty foot extension cord with no trouble at all. I have even stapled some to the underside of desks. Love ’em.

What I appreciate most about this post is showing these things in use! I keep buying cord managers and seriously have the hardest time figuring out how to use them.

;D Tricia. I’ve used duct tape and staples myself.

Mbwife, these are really neat. They have a slit on each end that the cord slips into. They designed so the edges are rounds (meaning the double cords won’t catch on the inside of the slit). Be sure to check out “locations” where they are sold. You may also find a place close to home.

Thanks everyone. Let me know how you like them.

[…] I’m still in love with a stocking stuffer mentioned last year.  Don’t miss out on how to organize cord clutter. […]
