An indoor-outdoor bathroom where modern transparency rules.

An “unremarkable house on a remarkable site” was reasoning behind this modern indoor-outdoor bathroom. Alter Studio, the Texas architect who designed the stunning Modern Eucalyptus Kitchen, brough the outdoors inside by opening up this remarkable remodeled bathroom with glass. If the ultimate expression of the spa bathroom is to eliminate solid walls, so that the space feels unobstructed and luxurious – it is achieved in this bath where transparency rules. I’m very partial to this type of bath which takes advantage of greenery and views. Gorgeous, no?

A double, custom stainless steel sink and vanity floating on a glass wall is not for everyone. There’s no handy mirror for starters but it’s hard to dispute the amazing effect. Steal even half this look and you’re ahead, right?  An interior wall of plate glass  encloses a room-size double shower with interior bench and skylight.

Inside, a neat stainless glass-through bolting system fixes the end of the shower bench to the wall. This shower also has a secondary control panel for seated bathing tasks and a border of rocks to help make the drains look Zen.
