A small square foyer rug can visually expand floor space in an entry way.
This square Turkish entry-hall or foyer rug is colorful and a terrific example of how a rug’s pattern can help balance a space. The over sized diamond-shaped center of this tribal carpet has shades of green and blue. The medallion nearly fills the wine-colored field and its arrow shape helps create an illusion of size. At the same time, the smaller diamond woven into in the very center sits on the mid-point of the entry space and keeps the eye focused. Pairing a rustic rug with a sleek, wall-mounted French marble-top console and mirror makes for an interesting juxtaposition of textures awaiting guests who enter through the elegant arched doorway.
