Stylish rugs for kids have numerous designs, from animals to stripes, for every age.
From tiny tots to teens, the rugs for kids choices run the gamut from cute to contemporary. If you’ve been rug shopping for your main living areas and felt overwhelmed, then sit down because the choices for your kid’s room are abundant. And how wonderful that is! As a former kid myself, I was always interested in decorating and expressing my sense of style but back in those days, places like Crate & Barrel’s Land of Nod and Pottery Barn kids didn’t exist. Rug manufacturers have lines designed just for kids, even cashing in on celeb names like Hannah Montana and the Olsen twins. Here are a few choices to pique your interest. Little Boys Make Noise rug, from Posh Tots, seems perfect for an infant or toddler.
Double Gerbera Daisy rug [left] is from The Rug Market and the colors are perfect for a girl, even up to a ‘tween. Shag rugs reappeared on the market with a bang last year. Say goodbye to the 1970′s shag we remember and hello to new textures and hip colors in [top to bottom] bubblegum, tutti fruiti and key west blue from Rosenberry Rooms.
Rugs with musical themes might be popular for boys. Even though the images on these rugs feel a bit retro, the the Imagine, The Beat, and Play rugs are quite basic.
Stripes are perennially popular and are another basic category of rugs for kids. While these are polo, gradient and color block stripes in posh piles, flat-weave rugs, cotton rugs and easy-to-clean synthetics also work well for kids.
