The stainless backsplash behind a sink with a pre-rinse pro faucet says “serious cook lives here.”
This kitchen was one in my original scrapbook of ideas for my own kitchen — note the 3-hole notebook punch outs and the notes I made about the restaurant-style pre-rinse faucet with integral sprayer. And this is the original scan. This post took its name from the super practical stainless backsplash and counters around the large sink. What I also loved about this kitchen was the lKWC Domo Classic Semi-Pro with pre-rinse sprayer. Eventually, I bought a faucet that looked quite similar — inspiration photos are so important. This particular KWC model is very tall — perfect for an older house with an especially high ceiling. I also wanted to keep a photo of the wonderful pot rack that contributes so much character above a no-nonsense steel work table. The small, restaurant-style bench is a great adjunct to a nearby island.
Few kitchens have as many special features. There is wall-cabinet storage that goes up nearly to the very high ceiling – those doors are huge! A kitchen ladder, to make it accessible, isn’t shown. Note curved cabinet door frames that echo the romantic sink window. There’s also a tantalizing glimpse of the butler’s pantry through the doorway and hints of two colorful oriental rugs that suggests an older home around the turn of the 21st century.
