Natural rattan chairs and window blinds coordinate well with the kitchen floor.
The starkness of an all white kitchen is gentled by the use of natural rattan accents on the window blinds and chairs around the central island and eating bar. This is a beach house kitchen so the natural wood floor and all-white color scheme contribute to an organic feeling. Still, this is a highly organized and fully fitted kitchen that includes a workspace, eating bar at the end of the island, and wall ovens in addition to a range (that’s hidden behind the island. The one quirky feature is the lack of a vent hood.
A pair of graceful lantern pendant lights help create a decorative focal point over the island and mix in an antique aura. The seating area is an extension at the end of the island.
Glazed white 6″ x 6″ tile, set in a staggered pattern, offers a variation on the subway back splash theme and wraps around the two window walls. Shelves cleverly added above the windows link the upper cabinets across the room and provide ample space for dish and basket displays. The SubZero refrigerator is paneled to match, and blend into, the cabinetry. With traditional doors, simple Shaker style cabinets and bracket feet on lower cabinets this kitchen moves towards a transitional look.
