A warm maple cabinet and family kitchen is also designed for heavy entertaining.
A family of four uses this beautiful but homey 34- x 20-foot kitchen which boasts a pair of everything: islands, refrigerators (SubZero650s), dishwashers (Fisher&Paykel dish drawers & Miele Incognito), sinks, and range hoods. There’s also a baking center built into one of the alcoves.
Twin black-painted islands anchor the space and provide ample storage as well as a third oven. Counters have ogee-edged Calacatta Oro marble. But the heart of this kitchen is the English-style range alcove with the customized black Lacanche Sully. The family-size American antique farm table dates back to 1850.
On the range wall, the custom black Lacanche Sully, 84-inches long, boasts double ovens, double warming cabinets, 7 burners, and a French top. The range is set into an alcove with a large hood that conceals two 48-inch Vent-A-Hood liners. To create the handsome range guard, Ann Sacks moss-green Sur La Mer hand painted, glazed tiles were set in a staggered pattern. A wrought iron half-moon rooster doormat functions as “stove jewelry.”
The prep sink, with a Whitehaus Vintage bridge faucet, sits just across the aisle. That and the main sink are both Bumped Out Farm Sinks — this link provides details and useful sink installation and counter close ups.
Counters are calacatta d’oro marble. Wrought iron utensil shelves were custom ordered and match the Murray Feiss “Knight” pendants. A Chicago Faucets pot filler is at the left on the range wall.
