Three Christmas mantel looks that are easy to recreate and personalize with affordable accessories.
There’s an old saying that applies to creating a gorgeous Christmas mantel: simple is not always easy. But sometimes it can be! So many mantels I see and like are elaborate and extravagantly arranged by professional florists with many elements that can never be used again. So I was immediately captivated by three mantels created by professional stylists from Crate and Barrel. And this being Cyber Monday, today is the best day of the year to get great discounts and free shipping on anything ordered online!
Let me state — and this is important — that I’m a devoted fan of C&B for nearly four decades now. This is a purely personal post with no connection to the store — just admiration. I first began shopping at Crate in Chicago many years ago. This year, Mr. AM and I did all our holiday shopping at the White Plains, NY store. Every visit feels like home.
Anyone who’s busy, and wants to pull something together quickly, will appreciate the short list of the must-have accessories that shortcuts the shopping for each of these fresh, pretty Christmas mantel looks with quick ideas about how to individualize each one. You’ll see what I mean.
Silver Garland and Gold Mantel [ & top]
I love the blend of the silver magnolia garlands, arching down, with small to large glittering gold cones and cylinders. Small nosegays and a minimum of fresh greens complete the look.
Classic Christmas red is the theme that runs from the wonderful bulbs hanging from the tree triangles through to the cranberry glass votives. This is such a simple look that could go together in about an hour, provided you don’t make a mess with the “snow.”
Natural Spruce and White Mantel
Modern, with a hint of Scandinavian flair, I adore the naturalistic feel of pine cones, pine sprigs and mini evergreens mixed with simple glass and ceramic accessories. The green tree candleholders and white bird are such excellent basics they can be cherished pieces to use for years to come.
