Handmade organic bedding for infants and toddlers.
One thing is certain, babies don’t stay babies very long. Our youngest daughter has been looking for sheets suitable for her 2 year old when his crib is converted into a toddler bed. She has zeroed in on several designs, one of them being the simple, modern pieces from Candy Kirby Designs. All of the organic bedding for children is handmade in the USA, with American grown kona cotton. The uniquely designed patterns can be mixed and matched on a whim – fun for mom and child. Shown above is the Watercolor Ikat sheet.
The shop also carries breathable, lightweight but warm, blankets generously sized, and perfect for swaddling or slumber. Ultra soft basic short sleeve tees, bloomers and knotted baby gowns come in a rainbow of colors. Knotted beanies and headbands are all the rage. The pillow covers are nice in that they are double-sided. Mercado has also designed a line of hand and machine sewn fabric dolls any little girl would love. Some fabrics are even available to purchase by the yard.
Designer Erin Mercado is a mom of three who still works at home. It’s nice to see an idea become a homegrown business. I look forward to see what she does in the future. Mercado has a nice blog, too so be sure to check it out for more ideas.
