In a room that doubles as an entry or walkthrough space, hidden laundry appliances keep things elegant.
The set up for this formal laundry room is perfect for a walk-through space or one seen from the main living area due to the hidden laundry appliances. Custom cabinets are painted a soft gray color that compliments highlights in the slate tile floor. I’m seeing more rooms painted in a single color including walls, trim and ceiling, and finding it more attractive each time. The washer and dryer each have their own given closet with a framed lattice door for ventilation. While it’s visually stunning, I imagine getting heavy, wet laundry from the washer to the dryer isn’t much fun. At least the appliances are elevated for easier access, providing drawer storage underneath for detergents and other necessities. There also are cabinets above the appliances for additional storage. French-pleated curtains, grasscloth shades and woven baskets offer texture that complements the lattice. The baskets could be used for storage or sorting and the granite counter for folding. I’d love to see what the rest of the room offers.

Love hiding the washer/dryer in plain sight!
Me too, SM! The doors that vent (so appliances don’t overheat) is the key for this to function with the doors closed, not to mention look nice 24/7. I’d love to use this idea if we build again, but would tweak it a bit.
what would you change? I love this look.
