Hand-painted horizontal wide striped walls are kid-suitable at at any age.
As a child grows, tastes and needs change. And it happens faster than you’d think! A year ago, I featured a nursery [below] in Hand Painted Nursery Wall Designs and wrote “wide stripes are commonly used in nurseries, but this soft aqua is not. Colors and designs that can grow with the baby are always nice.” Last week I spotted the similar bedroom with horizontal wide striped walls [above] that could easily go from toddler to teen with a few tweaks. In both rooms, light stripes are painted only on one or two walls, with other walls left light to keep the room from feeling confined. A trundle bed replaces the crib and gives overnight guests a place of their own. Bold color pillows, a throw, funky accessories and artwork add personal touches. A black and white stripe rug might seem like an odd choice with the wide striped walls, but the introduction of a dark color not only grounds the room, but gives it dramatic flair. Horizontal stripes are a fun way to add color to a room, one that can mature with the child.

What is the name of the aqua on the wall?
Hi Andrea,
It looks very much like Benjamin Moore’s Crystal Springs to me.
