A silver glass mosaic tile backsplash is unexpectedly glam in an outdoor kitchen.
A contemporary family home in the woods is far from the expected cabin. Nowhere is that more evident than in the outdoor great-room kitchen where a flashy silver glass mosaic tile wall backs up the stainless steel grill, cabinetry and appliances.
Located in rural Quebec, there are floor to ceiling screened in views of the great outdoors. The outdoor kitchen is fully equipped with a grill, deep fryer, refrigerators and sink — a set up mean for serious entertaining. Glittery tile is a sharp contrast to the rustic wooden dining table. But as a backsplash for high heat cooking it’s surprisingly durable and practical. It will clean easily with Windex and repel and smoky residue not captured by the vent hood over the grill.
The mix of country and city is also expressed in the contrast between the style of the long dining table and the acrylic Ghost chairs, which are a modern favorite. When the lights come on at night, a wall like this will sparkle and reflect the company. It’s a wonderful, if unexpected, party room.

Am I brave enough?
I just adore this wall. Doesn’t take the whole thing so seriously and just think of it at night by candlelight.
I’m sure these would help the kitchen to stay lighter since it looks like those tiles would reflect light well. I wonder if these come in other colours as well, it would be interesting to see this done in a few other metallics like copper, silver and gold.
Oh my! This is truly awesome! I love this. So modern and so fabulous! Thanks for sharing such an inspiring article!
