Say good morning to high tech bath storage — a medicine cabinet with TV in the door.
While I’m always in favor of the coolest, latest and most up to date stuff, electronics get tricky in a bathroom. I don’t want anything complicated when I’m half asleep. I don’t want anything too loud, or automatic, too pimped out, or too Vegas. Washlet toilets with remote controls give me the creeps. Yet I’ve had a weak spot for investment-grade high tech bath storage in the shape of Robern medicine cabinets since the day I first used mine nine years ago. Now I find myself enamored of their 8-inch TV-in-the-mirror M-series medicine cabinet [top] almost as much as the vanity I showed in their video last June.
Please don’t ask me how much this costs. With such things value is relative. Having read the specs I do know that that speakers, cable box, wiring and remote control are not included. Plus, you’d need a genius electrician to install it correctly. What you’re getting, however, is a hotel-quality media-master cabinet with volume and power controls (the buttons on the shelf) defogger, interior mirror, glass shelves plus an ipod connection and smartphone charging station. Fad or fixture? I can’t tell yet. But I’m still drooling.
