In the fall of 2011, houndstooth pattern was touted as a runway trend that crossed over into home décor. I suppose that would now make the pattern passé… unless you live in my neck of the woods, the deep South. It’s where football season never ends and where black and white houndstooth hasn’t been out of style since 1958 – thanks to Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant. The living room [above] scores points with a pair of gutsy chairs covered in an oversized houndstooth fabric. The otherwise monochromatic space gets a big jolt with this strong graphic pattern.
