Will blue-and-white fans love the deep hue of these blue kitchen cabinets and this modern take?
Every time I look at these deep blue kitchen cabinets they make me feel that someone was inspired by an ancient piece of blue and white china. That’s silly, of course, since European-style contemporary cabinets come in many blues as saturated as this one. What makes the blue cabinets look so cool, I think, is the super-sharp contrast with the white walls, counters and pale beige floor. In keeping with the modern look there are stainless steel appliances. A Wolf pro-style range and hood, slips in neutrally and are hardly noticed. And the prep sink disappears into the island with a low-profile faucet. That’s because the cabinet color is so unusual and striking. While the space looks thoroughly today, the styling of the Edison bulb cluster chandelier and bar stools does reference mid-20th century design. But a fact-check proves that Kartell’s polypropylene Spoon Stools are barely teenagers.

The blue gives a lot of personality and spunk to the kitchen. Arguably the most used room in the house, it’s great to give the kitchen an identity of it’s own. The blue-white is a nice contrast but not harsh.
Love the blue!!! Rich blues (cobalt, sapphire, etc.) always make me smile (and swoon a little, too!).
🙂
I love the blue! I’m not necessarily a fan of modern, but really do like this kitchen.
Thanks for sharing.

I’m a modern fan but not so much for dark cabinets usually. But there’s something special about this one, I agree.
