The pattern referred to as Robin, Hummingbird and Aviary is a contemporary bird motif hit
NYC designer Thomas Paul is well on his way to meeting his ultimate goal — having products that cover every aspect of the house grace his patterns. His popular bird motif designs adorns the objects featured here, and more. How fun it would be to sit around a table in the chairs above, each upholstered in a different color.
Velocity Art and Design carries a variety of thomaspaul items bearing the much loved birds. The powder and cream Robin rug is hand tufted 100% New Zealand wool. It would be an adorable nursery rug, and equally fitting for a sunroom.
Paul’s fabrics are available on light fixtures. The Oliver pendant is shown in aqua and the Tyler in moss. The pattern is referred to as Hummingbird in Velocity’s lighting section.
If you love the pattern, but don’t want to make such a bold statement, it was also used on a melamine serving tray from Seltzer Studios. Perfect for summer.
Our youngest daughter spotted the fabric at the local Calico Corners where it is known as Aviary. She had custom decorative pillows made for the master bedroom. The pair of euros were done in Tangerine and the round in Maize. The bright colors gave her the pop she wanted against the chocolate tufted headboard.

Love this fabric! It’s the perfect mix of a little contemporary & a little traditional. I’ve been shying away from birds because of their trendiness, but this fabric is so fun, I’d make an exception. Thanks for sharing.
This makes me giggle a little in my head, because there is some terribly goofy show the kids showed me online, where people go around ‘improving things’ with their prime decorating tip, “Put a bird on it,” and proceed to place birds of some sort on everything they see. My kids would love this stuff!
I’m not usually a fan of bird decor, because it’s usually part of something heavily decorated and over-traditional for me, but like Laxsupermom said, this design is just enough contemporary to be very fun. I like the blues and greens.
I saw the funny clip too, Rhome. Like you both said, this is a fun design. Seeing the mama feeding the baby on DD2’s pillow always makes me smile.
