A red laundry room takes a utilitarian space from drab to fab with a bold color choice.
Red lacquer painted cabinets are as hot as the summer Florida sun due in this red laundry room in a Rosemary Beach villa. Matching vivid red mini subway tiles form a tall backsplash. The vibrant color continues over the counters. The smart choice of red glass knobs do not disturb the flow of this bold color selection. The front load washer and dryer are perched on a small step-up for easier access. The pair are topped by a custom counter that offers the homeowners a convenient place to sort, fold or store freshly laundered beach towels. A pierced metal fixture brings in a Moroccan feel, but I have to wonder if it is purely decorative since it would not provide sufficient task lighting. The window trim and louvered doors are painted a chic glossy black. While floor tile would not have been my first choice, it will hide any sand brought inside from the beach. Nevertheless, it is a cheery room for a less than fun chore and hopefully leaves more time to splash in the waves.
