Steel windows add opulence as a detail not usually found in a bathroom.
This luxurious master bath is nothing short of spectacular and it begins with the use of steel windows as a backdrop for a graceful free-standing silver slipper tub. Elements normally found elsewhere in a home create warm and welcoming impressions in the generously oversized room by Jeffrey Bilhuber. Floor length fabric curtains and custom bookcase style shelves flank transomed windows. The chandelier is both elegant and simplistic. A campaign chair brings a feminine silhouette against the masculine steer hide rug. The walls and ceiling are covered with rolls of reed normally used as fencing material. It was an inexpensive way to bring texture into the room and counterbalances the Jerusalem gray cobbled tile floor.
The custom steel and glass shower enclosure is one of two in the room. Cleverly made from classic steel windows, they also feature casement window doors. The his and her spaces are mirror images, using Waterworks fittings and two leg washstands with single under mount sinks. Wood framed mirrors and bronze sconces with ivory shades are the final touches in this amazing retreat.
