Vintage collectibles add personality and history to a room.
Writing a few posts each week, exactly how hard can it be. Let me tell ya, sometimes it can be hard to find a website, an item or a subject I believe will grab the attention of our savvy readers. Then I ran across Three Potato Four. As I clicked through the unique merchandise, I found myself asking, “Do you really want to share a good source for vintage collectibles? Someone could snatch something fantastic right out from under your nose!” But, at Atticmag, it’s always the season of giving…
Virginia husband and wife team Stu Eli and Janet Morales have backgrounds in the graphic design industry, and it shows. The couple scour flea markets scoring quirky vintage collectibles for their online store which recreates some pieces. Vintage educational posters, signs and letters make up a large portion of their eclectic inventory. Many items in the inventory can be reinvented, such as weathered industrial parts bins, wooden containers and wire baskets. A few ideas include vegetable storage, rounding up dog toys or gathering garden gloves and hand tools. This time of year, it would make an unexpected container for forcing flower bulbs.
Alas, the piece that made my heart pitter-patter is sold; an amazing antique handmade wood and metal horse race spinning wheel that was once used in a carnival game of chance.
