Colorful talavera sinks enhance a bathroom with color, pattern and Mediterranean style.
Warning: This post contains color-saturated images of talavera sinks that may dramatically change your “neutral only”‘ way of decorating! Rooted in the Spanish Majolica pottery tradition, hand-painted Mexican talavera pottery is seeped in history. Named for the Spanish village of Talavera de la Reina, these handicrafts are Mexican made in and around Puebla, south east of Mexico city. most commonly found in tile and home décor items, but my favorites by far are the bathroom sinks.
Drenched in vivid hues and bold designs, a talavera sink demands to be noticed. Perfect for bathrooms, they offer a unique way to add a rustic and potent splash of color and plus they are a stylish alternative to standard issue white basins.
The production of talavera sinks is also rivaled by tile and even sanitary fixtures such as toilets. Any of these decorated sinks can become a focal point in a bathroom or can be worked into a suite of bath fixtures which share the same motif and give the bathroom a distinctive Mediterrean style.
