A kiwi green kitchen was perfect for funny girl Caroline Rhea, who loves sun and brightness.
Cheerful and colorful were the criteria for this kiwi green country-style kitchen created for comedienne Caroline Rhea in LA by New York designer Amanda Nisbet. Ms. Nisbet is known for her bold use of color. The green walls set the theme for the kitchen, which blends intot he open plan dining room and is close by the door to outdoor space as well.
The scheme is remarkably simple, with white cabinets inset with bead board and butcher block counters. A Kohler sink and faucet, and Fisher & Paykel dish drawers are both practical choices — perhaps the comedienne really cooks. A see-through upper glassware cabinet are shortened to provide an unobstructed view into the rest of the room. And by filling them with glassware, the transparency is preserved. Shortening that cabinet also helps keep the space open and let in light from the adjacent breakfast room and the outdoors beyond. As celebrity kitchens go, this one is very simple and approachable, youthful and useful to those with smaller homes.
