A marble top pastry table adds French style to this perfectly white kitchen
An antique French table, with crenulated fleur-de-lis apron and marble top, is a treasure in a kitchen. While not as elaborate as a similar vintage piece with a glass top and amazing scrolling legs in my Table Talk post, a table of this style adds a masterful touch of history to a kitchen which is clearly new and highly staged but relentlessly white. The warm tone of the marble top ties echoes the diagonal terra cotta-tile kitchen floor and helps warm the space. However, the warm tones in the collection of yellow ware support that effort too. The pristine sink wall of the kitchen features white cabinets, a marble counter and white subway tiles. Shelves like these flanking a small window help keep the kitchen from looking heavy. Brass bin pulls on the white base cabinets are another warm touch that contrasts with the coolness of the brushed nickel sink faucet. The kitchen also has Wolf range under a built-in white hood. The result — Ooh la la! — a white kitchen with French accents that is nothing short of formidable!
