It features two apartments full of rooms -- nearly 10,000 square feet -- created by 15 top designers as a benefit for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, founded by Evelyn H. Lauder. Each room was inspired by an extraordinary woman chosen by the designer. On Monday, I toured one apartment and returned on Tuesday to see the second, slightly smaller space. So start the tour here. Both apartments are new luxury condominiums at 535 West End Avenue, where prices range between $8.5 and $25 million. Extell Development lent the space to launch the new address. Most important, though, showhouse proceeds go to fund important breast cancer research and awareness programs which have special significance this month. Living Room by Inson Dubois Wood LLC. Inspiration: Actress, Power Mom and U.N. Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie [above and detail, below] A focal point in this contemporary living room is, most definitely, the expansive white leather B&B Italia Daybed Terminal 1 (at the end of the coffee table), which looks like a modernist soup spoon. The modern carpets, from Orley and Shabahang, have wonderful earthy  colors plus handsome woven edges instead of fringe, to give them a sleek finish.  An image on the printed pillow on the corner chair [below] resembles Che Guevara. Inspiration: First Lady Michelle Obama Another gorgeous rug woven in a cream-tan and blue-gray abstract pattern, this time from Carini Lang, supports the muted library color scheme calibrated just a few points above neutral and picked up perfectly by Michele Varian pillows.  The elegant furniture includes a pair of Tommi Parzinger Palumbo side chairs [below] and an exquisitely upholstered custom sofa by Doreen Interiors. Kitchen and Family Room by Rinfret Interiors, LLC. Inspiration: Coco Chanel Opening onto to this family room  is a large, richly appointed T-shape kitchen with wood-tone Smallbone cabinets, polished black  granite counters and a beefy La Cornue gas range. The peninsula backs into the sitting area with an eating bar for two [below] so the main sink, with Waterworks faucet, sits on the far wall. The stem of the T, a pass-through from the hallway, houses a wine refrigerator, built-in Miele coffee system, SubZero refrigerator, secondary Miele electric cooktop and prep sink [second photo, below]. Oops, I almost forgot another Miele oven. Master Bedroom by Cullman & Dravis, Inc. Inspiration: Playwright and activist Eve Ensler The richness and subtlety of the master bedroom cannot be overstated. This is one of those you-must-know-what-you're-looking-at rooms with a helpful crib sheet of antiques and artworks in a leather-bound book.  I got a vaguely Greco-Roman vibe from the detailing on the bed hangings and amazing embroidered leading edges of Anthony Lawrence Belfair draperies hung from a silver-painted rod and rings. The gilded buddah surrounded by pillar candles deftly keeps the focus in the room rather than let it go out the large window. A Maison Jansen 1960s era-marble-topped chest of drawers [below] sits below an antique gilded bronze round mirror from Karl Kemp. Bedroom by Pat Kreisler. Inspiration: Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher The peach and green color scheme in this "Margaret Thatcher" bedroom brought the 1980s roaring back. And what could be more perfectly in tune with the  sedate and utterly traditional English style chamber than rose chintz mixed with Porthault and Pratesi sheets. Study by Greg Lanza Design. Inspiration: Princess Marella Caracciolo di Castagneto (Marella Agnelli) Tones of cocoa and brown lend a cozy air to this study but I was mesmerized by the window treatment. When pulled up, a printed roman shade reveals a loose-weave mesh scrim over the window plus decorative silver ball hangings on each side that read like  a cheeky pun on  metal shade chains.
