Rustic takes a bold turn in this kitchen where cherry-red and white tile lines a large chimney niche and frames a big Wolf range with signature red knobs. In the niche, an inky paint color makes lower pots and pan shelves adjacent to the range take on a subordinate role. Counters are topped with soapstone.

A touch of bold 1940’s lipstick red is guaranteed to be memorable in a kitchen, no matter how the color is used. I have a serious affinity for red, which conveys a sense of energy and fun and makes me admire the daring of red kitchen folk.
What’s striking about the red elements in these [...]

Ducati motorcycles were the inspiration for this expansive Atlanta loft kitchen. In addition to stained red cabinets with black accents, steel fixtures and industrial tread-plate were used to add texture and color. Floors are concrete.
Highly styled appliances such as the GE Monogram range, SubZero refrigerator and Grohe faucet complement the high octane color.
Snapshots show how [...]

Pratt & Lambert’s Roasted Red Pepper paint spices up the window of an otherwise serenely traditional kitchen. The Shaker-style cabinets in buttermilk finish are from Wood Harbor. There are soapstone counters and a custom sink with a Rohl country classic faucet. (Photo: Eileen3G)

Clever use of color, light, and accessories drive this Ikea galley kitchen to distinction. Exuberant red lacquer cabinets, designed by D’Aquino Monaco Inc., in NYC, give this big-city apartment kitchen untold glamour. Iridescent glass-mosaic tile (the color is “daffodil”) turns into a super-size ‘splash behind the Thermador pro range and chimney hood. The tile is from Town & Country Flooring. (Source: Elle Décor).

To get the necessary depth of color, the cabinets in this kitchen required 9 coats of exterior high-gloss Chanticleer (SW2912) Sherwin Williams paint. What a labor of love! Polished black granite and white walls help keep the red in check but the effect is showstopping. We’ve had this scan in the Kitchens We Love album [...]

The ‘50s style Smeg Fab28 red fridge, is the GPS for this distinctly Euro-look kitchen. Swagged industrial pendants, simple open shelves (note the absence of upper cabinets) and a 70-cm oven in the base cabinet are other stylistic tells. The tablecloth nods to vintage oilcloth and aprons you only see in movies nowadays. We [...]

Some kitchens look best when they’re as slick and polished as racing cars. This Italian lacquer beauty by Aster Cucine has all the cool features — minimal profile, stainless accents, sculptural hood and gull-wing, glass-door uppers. Un po’ Euro-generic? Sure, but that’s precisely the point. (Source: astercucine.com)
