What’s not to love about this fun-filled colorful bath.
Interior designer Baily McCarthy describes her brain as half neon, half Coco Chanel black and white – me thinks it’s more 80/20. This delightful guest bath is a peak inside the Austin home created for her family. McCarthy started with the Katie Ridder beetlecat wallpaper leftover from their previous home. The blue tub surround tile pattern turned into a happy mistake – it was suppose to be installed at a 45 degree angel for a quatrefoil look, but the installer made a big oops. As trendy as this design is nowadays, I think it was pure happenstance.
A porthole cabinet mirror and marine wall lights carry on the nautical motif. The modern mirrored vanity from the Waterworks Henry collection reflects the Robins Egg penny tile mosaic – also by Waterworks. The simple, but vibrant, orange rug color is repeated in the traditional border shower curtain and box valance. I especially like the addition of the ventilated built-in laundry hamper that tilts out for easy access. McCarthy’s design style shouts go big or go home… or in her case, go big at home!

LOVE both tile choices!
How fun! I love this bath! Love the tile choices, and it looks so fresh with the orange. Thanks for sharing.
