Well-made new “old” furniture is a sought after item in today’s market.
If you’re looking for high quality authentic reproduction farm tables, chair and more, Antique Tables Made Daily shop owner Tom Von Fange is your man. He and his team of craftsmen have been creating timeless pieces since 1983.
Each is handmade by a single craftsman, from start to finish, using old fashioned techniques and proudly sign by its creator. They carefully select and grain match kiln dried boards of mountain and recycled antique lumber. Hand tooled surfaces recreate the look, sturdiness and feel that used to only be found in vintage tables.
The Virginia showroom also carries chairs and barstools made by Mennonites, highlighting superb craftsmanship. The Shaker thumback and Vermont chairs [below] are only two styles available from the collections. I found the website user friendly, with specs located in the faq’s section and a very detailed price guide. As expected, custom orders are also welcome. For the kitchen obsessed, they also build custom islands.
Attention to details in woodworking and finishing set each piece apart from the mass produced. It’s the craftsmanship of yesterday combined with modern talent, destined to become heirlooms.
