An ultra-modern bathroom where transparency rules
The ultimate expression of the spa bathroom is to eliminate solid walls so that the space feels unobstructed, airy and luxurious – even with the essential partitions. Perhaps that’s why I’m partial to ultra-modern bathrooms where transparency rules. Here alterstudio, the Texas architect who designed the stunning Eucalyptus kitchen, brings the outdoors inside by sheathing this remarkable remodeled bathroom in glass because, the architects state, it was an “unremarkable house on a remarkable site.”
A double, custom stainless steel sink and vanity floating on a glass wall is not for everyone. There’s no handy mirror for starters but it’s hard to dispute the amazing effect. Steal even half this look and you’re ahead, right? An interior wall of plate glass encloses a room-size double shower with interior bench and skylight.
Inside, a neat stainless glass-through bolting system fixes the end of the shower bench to the wall. This shower also has a secondary control panel for seated bathing tasks and a border of rocks to help make the drains look Zen.
