For me, coffee colors at home are comforting — in a mug or on the walls
Lately, all the colors I’m drawn to seem to be shades of coffee – from stain-on-the-tablecloth pale, to pressed espresso-grounds dark. I adore every coffee hue imaginable, separately and together, in a mug or on the walls.
I’m not alone either. Designers like San Franciscan Martha Angus know the power of the coffee palette and how to best use it for e dramatic effect, albeit with a light touch. Here classic California rooms are crisp, comfortable and stylish due to the way these tones work together on walls, furniture, art, windows and floors.
This past winter, several rooms at the Inspired Designs Showhouse featured similar color schemes. Sure they are classic, yes they are neutral but we see them so much for a very good reason. Designers know they are easy to live with in any season; as comforting as a steaming bowl of cappuccino on a morning when there is still a slight chill on the floor, or a lick of a coffee ice cream cone on a hot summer’s day.
