Mona Lisa Latte
By Jane F ~ January 7th, 2010. Filed under: Recipes.

My youngest brother knows how much I love coffee. It’s definitely one of my major food groups. So he sent me a series of photos yesterday of what he called Mona Lisa Latte.
It took a minute to realize what I was looking at: a 20-by-13-foot likeness of da Vinci’s masterpiece, the Mona Lisa, created on a plaza in Sydney, Australia at The Rocks Aroma Festival last August. The sculpture took a team of eight three hours to assemble and is composed of more than 3000 individual cups of coffee — with milk added to create the variations in color from dark to light.

And where there are photos of something like this, can a video not be far behind? Not much.

Now our pals down in Oz who are reading this must wonder why it took so long to find it’s way up here. I have no explanation.

I do I think this latte-lady is hilarious, and makes a spectacular companion for the luscious tirami su that Jane T posted last Friday spectacularly disguised as a Mies van der Rohe Barcelona couch. (Photos via Philip P)

Just what I love best–food and art.

I think this type of art is so interesting. Did you see the ones made of pushpins? I think they were on Sunday Morning. The only thing I don’t like about the coffee is that it will be short lived. I hate the thought of taking it apart… sad!

This is wonderful! I went over and looked at the “couch” also. What a great combination, I say let’s get them together and have a party!
