Square Entryhall Rug
By Jane T ~ December 5th, 2009. Filed under: Passion for Rugs.

This square Turkish entry-hall rug is a colorful choice and a terrific example of how a rug’s pattern can help balance a space. The oversized diamond-shaped center of this tribal carpet has shades of green and blue that nearly fill the wine-colored field — creating an illusion of size. At the same time, the smaller diamond woven within in the very center sits on the mid-point of the entry space and keeps the eye focused. Pairing a rustic rug with a sleek, wall-mounted French marble-top console and mirror makes for an interesting juxtaposition of textures awaiting guests who enter through the elegant arched doorway.

Amazing entryway. Clearly, each piece was carefully selected. Love the rug! Even the vestibule is pretty.

I love this entry hall. Very fresh. The paint is similar to the color my youngest daughter has painted her living/dining room.

I’m so pleased you all liked the image. I was immediately drawn to the way the rug filled the space both in size and color. Very cozy yet dramatic.

I love this entry, too. Simple, uncluttered and so elegant. I’ve struggled with what to do with mine and this is definitely giving me some ideas. Clearly a very well edited space – I love the choice of furniture and furnishings in it.

I can’t believe, they answered my email on the wall color! It’s BM Windham Cream. Yum!
Double-thanks, Jane
