Decor Inspiration Photos
By Jane T ~ December 12th, 2009. Filed under: Décor, Kids.

This past week I’ve been organizing files on my computer. The biggest project was sorting photos. The task is completed (phew!) but in the end I discovered a few photos that, for one reason or another, never made it into an article. Since they have no relation to one another, I came up with the idea for a post sub-title:
Jane T’s 1st annual photos that got left behind post.
The first photo [close-up above] I saved because it was just so darn cute. Sweet, artistic and simple enough for a DIYer. The room [below] is the creation of blogger and interior designer Shoshana Gosselin.

Chalkboard paint on closet doors is another smart kid’s room idea. Looks like one of us big kids had some fun with the chalk on these sliders [below] (Photo via Houzz).

I’ve posted about eco-friendly and upcycled rugs in the past and found the Miss Rio flip-flop ottoman [below] while doing research. The description reads: “crafted out of a soft rubber made from recycled flip flops“. Looks like I’ve been out of the fashion loop as I wasn’t aware ffs came in such an array of colors. It’s available at Design Within Reach.

I always have my camera with me at my rug shop, so when this antique rug [below] came in with an original intact tag reading “Made in Persia,” I knew it was a rare find, so I snapped this image. Persia became Iran in 1935 so we know the rug is old.

I saved the picture [below] for a post on tablescapes. It’s from the Biltmore Village Inn website.

Whenever I see tiered serving dishes I always think of designer Christopher Lowell. Not sure why his tablescape demonstrations stuck in my head because I rarely entertain.

I posted before about being a teacup collector. The delicacy of pattern combined with the elegant feel of china is something I find really beautiful. What I don’t find beautiful is the taste of tea. So when our blogger gal-pal Fifi Flowers commented that we should drink Champagne from the teacups I was in complete agreement.

Fun to see some of your collected and lost photos, Jane
Which even includes a history lesson! That must have been something to see. I love browsing my older inspiration collections and being reminded of what I found so beautiful or interesting.
I just love that girl’s room, which is absolutely adorable! And very doable, as you say. Whoever it belongs to, she must be absolutely delighted to both wake up to and come home to it, every single day. Just precious.
That flip-flop ottoman is pretty interesting, hm. I’d like to see some rooms that they have gone in, too

This was a fun post! Loved the two very unique kiddie rooms. The ff ottoman is darling—I could see this in a teen’s room.
