Quirky Decor Accessories

By Jane T ~ October 23rd, 2009. Filed under: Allison Shops.

Life is always more interesting when you mix it up a bit. Allison and I have been playing musical chairs filling in for Jane F. while she was overseeing her kitchen remodel (or at least when we were successful in forcing JF take a day off).  I’m still trying to persuade JF to post a picture of herself in stilettos and designer hard hat, but so far no luck.

Allison was on recipe duty yesterday so I’m doing a “Jane T. Shops” for you all.  So sit down and have some fun with me because when it comes to online browsing, I love all things quirky and that’s exactly what I found at Chiasso.

The shoe is out of the bag since JF revealed her passion for all things heeled.  I think this Stiletto Doorstop is just what the Queen of Pumps needs.  Then again, with her fashionista collection I suppose she could make her own – one for every door in the house. Weighted vinyl $12.00

shop-clocks

A princess and two round minimalist clocks.  OK, the princess is quirky and I understand the concept behind minimalism but those two clocks require me to reprogram my time-reading skills so they, too, fall into the quirky category.
(L-R Princess clock $58. On the Spot clock $54. Peek clock $74).

More fun than quirky, these plastic mini chair reproductions come in two versions.  Classic Charles & Ray Eames mid-century modern designs (top) or iconic 20th century seating such as the Barcelona & Butterfly chair (bottom).  $98. per set.

Could you please pass…er…ROLL the salt and pepper?  Seriously.  Wind up these birds and they shimmy across the table to your guests.  And to get you in the mood for all that fun, this samba dancing timer (r) will make sure you don’t overcook the entree. Entertainment at a bargain price of $38 each.
See more of my quirky finds.

LOL Jane! You are ever the jokester (not to mention the quiz trickster). Thanks for making me laugh this morning.

Black pump doorstops! Wow, just what every fashionista needs. And here I am collecting flower basket doorstops instead.

We showed a kitchen that had shelves built in an adjacent room to show the owners collection of those modern mini-chairs. Now, if only there were mini-shoes. So much easier to store!

What’s really cute is seeing all three of our avatars lined up. I think we should win an avatar design award. We are just so creative :)

I’m partial to mine. ;) …although I think a rug would look nice under my packages.

Love the mini chairs and Mid-Century Modern!
