Rustic Tableware
By Allison ~ September 9th, 2009. Filed under: Allison Shops.

My breakfast room table sits unadorned. Since I don’t want my platinum TDO (Totally Decorating Obsessed) Card revoked for committing a decorating faux pas, let’s hit the keyboard for a bit of virtual shopping. Pulling colors from my kitchen, featuring a F&B French Gray Island, I begin selecting tableware for our woodland home. Arranging pictures on my desktop until I get an eye pleasing mix is an easy way to shop. No hassle returns – simply Trash!
I quickly achieve a rustic look by layering textures, starting with amber rimmed glassware made from hand-blown recycled glass.

I love the way the Safari flatware matte-finished contrasts nicely with the rich Indian rosewood handles.
Italian hand-crafted ceramic Toscana earthenware will handsomely finish each place setting.

To bring warmth to the table, I add a wool tapestry runner made by Zapotec craftsmen. Its traditional southwestern pattern in subtle earthtone shades is topped by a Mule Deer antler candleholder – naturally shed, of course.

A popular chandelier design, the Lagos Lantern, is a fabulous find. Hand-forged iron with a natural dark rust patina is the perfect final touch to a rustic, yet elegant table. I’m noticing a pattern in my selections. Do you see it too? The items are all handmade. Nothing brings warmth and individuality into a home than items crafted by hand.

I hope you enjoyed going virtual shopping with me today. We ♥ hearing from readers! Be sure to leave a comment and let us know what you think.
