Fall Home Accents
By Allison ~ September 30th, 2009. Filed under: Allison Shops, Décor.

Autumn is such a beautiful season. You can create an inviting fall ambiance inside your home by bringing in touches of nature, but it doesn’t have to include gourds, leaves or other harvested items. Add warmth by introducing simple accents, such as pillows, throws and table linens in harvest hues. The 100% pure Norwegian wool Roros Tweed blanket reminds me of rich autumn leaves. It’s always a good idea to have throws readily available in the den for cool nights, and equally nice in guest rooms.

Hand towels are an easy and inexpensive item to change with the season. Muted signature autumn colors in the pumpkin dish towel are a soft addition to your kitchen. I like to keep an assortment on hand for hostess gifts; lining baskets of goodies, gathered around a bottle of wine or wrapping a package held in place with twine or raffia.

Bring more fall color to your table using cotton runners adorned with leaves or apples. The table runner in the center features seasonal coloring, but in a handsome pattern that can be used year round. All the earthy textiles shown are made with natural materials with respect to the environment. Beautiful, functional and environmentally friendly.
I hope you enjoyed my fall finds. Enjoy the season!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I hope you enjoyed it.
The neutral colored couch is fabulous for changing out pillows by the season, or even if the mood strikes. I am learning to sew and plan on making a plethora of pillows to have on hand!! I also like different throws to use seasonally.
I find it hard to have anything but seasonal kitchen towels, I’m not sure why the shops do not sell more seasonal bath hand towels other than Christmas. Maybe I am missing something!!
Have a great weekend!!

Hi Alison,
That first picture is so warm and inviting, I just love it. I do the same thing at my house, change out all the pillow covers and rugs, and add warmer colors and throws. I try not to get too carried away with a theme, just use colors to convey the idea of Fall. But I just can’t resist a few gourds and things on the mantel… This is a great place, glad I found you! Hope you can stop by sometime for a little visit!

I love how in the first photo you feel that it is fall with just the colors. Not my style, but I still enjoyed it & got the feeling. I did like the towel.

I’m glad you all enjoyed the post. Thank you for stopping by. Seems the throw is a favorite.
Jane, I was in Macy’s today and looked for fall dishtowels. Martha’s line had a few, but not in earthy colors I wanted. I really like the pumpkin dishtowel and may order one or two. Nicer quality ones tend to last for years, even after multiple washings….at least that’s the way I justify purchasing!

Hello! Stopping over from Rhoda’s. I love that blanket and how it is neatly piled on the sofa. Happy fall!
