Last Tuesday, we showed some Refrigeration in Disguise, Sub Zeros covered with elaborate trompe l’oeil panels.
Here’s another, very cool one that that Jane T discovered.
An incredible beauty done in butternut wood, this Asian-style cabinet was created by one of our favorite designers — Chicago’s Mick diGiulio, who specializes in imaginative, ultra-luxe kitchens.
Built into a niche, and deftly spotlighted, it features a hand-hammered iron medallion and handles. Each drawer in the unit is concealed by a quartet of faux curio-cabinet drawers, making it a thriller of a chiller.

That is a beautiful piece. Love the wood. Thanks for identifying it. I also love the use of geometrics in the space. The square downlights are perfect, as is the angular shape of the light they cast.
I’m not understanding its location, though. Gads, could this be a *second refrigerator? I’d love to know how much something like that costs to have conceived, built, and installed.

Lovely. Lovely design displayed wonderfully.
And from what I can see, I’ll gladly take the house that fridge comes with.
