Bring the love of rugs to eye level with collected art
At my rug shop we have a number of carpets hanging on walls to create a visual exhibition of colors and motifs. The designs and rich hues of Oriental rugs are ideal to use in art and you will find carpets used as props in prints such as the Camellia with Oriental rug by Loran Speck. I’ve had these in mind as a way to bring my rug passion up to eye level. The trademark royal blue of a Chinese Fette rug is brilliantly captured in this image.

A traditional floral Persian rug is used as a backdrop in this still life painting titled Blue Vase with Oriental rug by Helen Albritton.
Navajo Yei rugs are fascinating to see in person and I like how A Navajo Yei Rug print illustrates detail found in the costumes.
Keshans are some of the finest rugs made. This framed giclee depicts the beautiful curvilinear features of a Keshan rug with wonderful accuracy.
The repeated diamond pattern and intense multiple colors of the Romanian carpet in this Romanian Loom-Woven Carpet Detail, a photo reproduction by Diana Mayfield demonstrates the impact of a motif close up.
