Safavieh Couture will be unveiled at the Atlanta International Rug Market in Jan ’09. The new label denotes Safavieh’s licensed rug collections by interior designers. Kicking off the launch are designers Jamie Drake, Suzanne Kasler and David Easton. Each will present a collection of 10 to 12 hand-knotted wool or combination wool/silk rugs. Retail price for a 6×9 rug starts at $1,500. Based upon previous room designs by these three, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a dose of Pantone’s 2009 color of the year incorporated into their rug collections.
