Floral Yellow

By Jane F ~ December 5th, 2008. Filed under: Color, Décor.

Fashion Color Of The Year

Mimosa is not just a sparkling brunch drink. According to a recent wire report, the trendsetters at Pantone, the company that provides color direction to the design industry, says that optimistic floral yellows will be edging into fashion and home design in 2009. Mimosas, marigolds and daffodils are the hues which will be seen on the runway at Michael Kors. As we know, home goods follow fashion. While yellow is a notoriously difficult color to get right with wall paint (ask me how I know) it definitely can be mood lifter, especially in gloomy times. Perhaps it's just my own bias towards yellow which began a few years ago but earlier this week, I coincidently posted a saturated, sunflower yellow bathroom I found and, along with the Pantone swatch, here’s fabric designer Gretchen Bellinger's yellow bedroom that can help you gauge how you feel about the color in general.
