Seaspray & Copper Kitchen

A palette of soft, seaspray green, white and terracotta warms this big family kitchen and belies the formality and wealth of detail. The colorful chairs and table in the adjacent dining area pick up the green. A SubZero 690 refrigerator, retrofitted with cabinet panels, occupies half the utility wall (left) which also includes a built-in Sharp microwave. The white custom perimeter base cabinets are all 30” deep. The cooking leg has twin Fisher & Paykel ovens and a Vent-a-Hood over a cooktop, tucked beneath a bib-like custom cabinet panel. Back splash is Italian ceramic “Melange” tile from Floor Gres (www.floorgres.it) with Greyhound accent tiles by Facsimile. Flooring is oak.

The bi-level island/eating bar (38” high) combines Kashmir Gold granite with a ogee-edge cherry butcher-block (www.glumber.com) counter (34-1/2” high) that wraps around a hammered Mexican copper prep sink. The faucet is Kohler’s Fairfax. Pulls and the Tibetan stools are from Pottery Barn.

A hefty travertine marble farm sink (from naturalstonesinksusa.com) is bumped out, then framed by cherry butcher-block counter tops. The triple casement window, by Marvin, is new. (Photos: Pam B.)
