San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2007

Famous for her majestic Golden Gate Bridge, crusty sourdough bread, and Tony Bennett’s pining heart, the City of San Francisco is my home by the Bay. The annual San Francisco Decorator Showcase fundraiser is one of the country’s premier events and features a home glammed up by top interior designers. In 2007, the Showcase celebrated its 30th year by inviting designer alumni to remake a historic Pacific Heights mansion located at 2901 Broadway, a street known as “billionaire’s row.”

Henry Clay Smith, San Francisco’s “hilltop architect,” designed the home, which was built in 1927. With four stories, a mezzanine and 10,000 sq. ft. of space, the mansion was on the market for $55 million at the time of the Showcase. Perched on what was once a rocky slope, this Renaissance style estate features 7 bedrooms, 6½ bathrooms, a tennis court and a breathtaking view of the San Francisco Bay and the Palace of Fine Arts Building.
