Retro Checkerboard Floor Kitchen

pea-green and white checkerboard floor in a renovated retro kitchenWhen a renovation gets nostalgic, it’s often due to a vintage stove

Green and white linoleum makes a wonderful retro checkerboard floor combination that’s echoed in the pea-green mosaic tiles on the edge of the kitchen counter. Walls, painted in a paler shade of green, work with everything.  The Jitterbug Era is further evoked by a vintage white enamel gas stove, 1940s-style butterfly hinges on cabinets, and red accessories that were all the rage in the middle of the 20th century.

This kitchen is really pretty! Do you know where I can find more pictures of it, please?

    Hi Maria,

Wish I had more pics of this kitchen. It’s so much fun. But this is all I’ve got. Sorry. Jane

Hi Ruthie, I’m happy to say that one of our advertisers, Armstrong Tile, has both sage green and cream color linoleum squares that could be used to create the floor you like in this retro kitchen. Here’s a link: http://www.armstrong.com.

Good luck and please let us see the results!

    Jane
