Yellow and white brocade-pattern wallpaper, used like paint, becomes an accent feature on the range wall.
The wallpaper renaissance is in full swing in the kitchen as a way to add pattern and color to walls that is very different from tile. In this classic yellow kitchen, designer Betsy Speert coordinated her wallpaper with butter-yellow cabinets and white for a cottage-kissed look on both sides of a pro-style range. The adjacent white-painted shelf unit, with Victorian style brackets, have no back — which lets the paper color and pattern shine through. Additionally, this kitchen has a panel-front farm sink with a chunky lip and granite counters. The island, English-style, is open at the bottom and painted a crisp white to match the sink, with yellow detailing. There are pendant lights with woven paper shades over the island.
